That's right! Jay's has been around since 1967. Originally starting out as Jay's Tavern Inc., it was a bar and package goods store. By 1977 Moe Bloom joined the company and brought the food with him. The company turned into Jay's Restaurant Group, expanding from what was one restaurant & bar to what is now 6 locations and a catering company. However Jay's also still exists at it's original location: 1309 North Charles Street. One of original hits on the menu then is still on there now; the Jay's Combo (Seeded deli rye, corned beef, melted imported swiss, sweet cole slaw, russian dressing, with pickles and chips)
